Sorting through some old magazines, I came across this gem from New York based architect, S. Russell Groves featured in New York Home. The focal point of the design is the accent wall paneled in beautifully grained walnut. The wall also serves an entertainment center concealing the clients extensive music collection, state of the art AV equipment, and even a bar.
The wood paneling ties in the living area with the dining area. I love the pairing of the Phillipe Starck chairs, chocolate table, and cowhide rug in the dining area. And that camel leather wing chair in the corner seems like the perfect place to read. The kitchen is subdued in white, allowing the living and dining areas to shine.
The bedroom is just to die for - I just love the floor mirror and the Noguchi lamp. And you can just get a glimpse in the mirror of a small flat screen TV on the subtle built in cabinets at the window.
The study is simple yet functional converting easily into a guest bedroom with fold out sofa. The custom Macassar ebony desk and floating shelving is simply stunning. This comfortable home feels simultaneously luxurious and paired down. For more amazing work from S. Russell Groves check out his website.
